After Relaunch #4: Sidechains focus
The brand new identity revealed a strong focus on sidechains, with easy-to-use tools, a lot of documentation and a collection of modules for programming a blockchain application, so everything you need to build and deploy your own blockchain. With Lisk, you will be able to create your own token directly in Lisk Hub, without a single line of code, on Lisk’s main blockchain. The Sidechain Development Kit (SDK) consists of four powerful tools: Lisk Commander, Lisk Elements, Lisk Core and the Lisk Hub
Lisk Commander, which was previously known as Lisky, is a command line interface (CLI) to the Lisk Core APIs that will support you in bootstrapping and managing your sidechain. Integrating a token and adding your own functionalities through new transaction types can be done effortlessly in Lisk Commander. It is be the most convenient tool for developers who are looking for an efficient way of coding with a CLI. This tool will facilitate delegates, node operators and developers to make use of Lisk’s functionality from the command line with ease.
Lisk Elements is a collection of libraries, such as the shared cryptography, an API representation, transaction logic for local signing and important constants for the ecosystem. Lisk Elements will offer every developer in the world the ability to contribute useful modules, algorithms, scripts and example transaction types.
Lisk Core is a tool for advanced technical users who want to access Lisk’s main network blockchain data, secure the network infrastructure or attain delegate forging access.
Lisk Hub is an all-in-one solution to manage your Lisk ID, access and send LSK tokens, as well as vote for delegates. It combines functionality from the former wallet and blockchain explorer. In the future, Lisk Hub will feature a DEX (decentralized exchange), sidechain registration and the ability to launch your own ICO.
As a result of the use of these tools, the features of the blockchains developed as Lisk sidechains can be sum up in the following points:
- Personalize tokens, transactions and consensus
- Open source
- military-grade cryptography
- Independent from the mainchain
- Low efforts needed
