We are very excited to report that Lisk’ migration on Mainnet was a success! The platform has released its client Core 1.0 and informed via twitter that the migration happened on the 29th August was successful. This represent their most important milestone to date, as they finally released the official client. All delegates migrated in less than 24 hours, the majority of nodes have already migrated and more than 9000 transactions have been executed so far.
? We can now officially confirm that the migration of #Lisk Core 1.0 to Mainnet was a success! ?⛓️ We'd like to thank #Lightcurve, our business partners and dedicated community for helping us get to this major achievement. Let's #CreateTheFuture together! ????? pic.twitter.com/PwyOwUP9KG

The most important features of Core 1.0 are the following:
-
New API & Design
In order to increase user experience and adoption Core uses REST, a widely-used standards for APIs. This change has been implemented to make Lisk’ API as simple and intuitive as possible in order to lower the entry barrier for Lisk and makes the whole platform more user-friendly in order to stimulate developers to build on it.
-
New Communication Layer P2P
The P2P layer at the foundation of the client has been redesigned and improved. Also known as “Real-Time Peers”, the Lisk team has worked to maximise its performance and reliability. The new implementation use a real-time framework provided by SocketCluster, a “fast, highly-scalable, HTTP and real-time server engine”. This allows users to use all the CPU cores available on their machine to run their Node.js. It also improves scalability, as it can partition work between multiple processes and adds a security measure to make the system more resilient by automatically recover threads in case of crashes.
-
Transaction Memo
The introduction of a new data field allows user to attach a custom message of up to 64 bytes to your transaction, similar to the OP_RETURN opcode script used by Bitcoin.
-
Fully Atomic Block Writes
The atomicity of block write guarantee data integrity across the nodes when they write to the database, as well as increasing the efficiency of processing.
-
Structured and Rewritten Test Suites
In software development, a test suite, is a collection of cases that are used to test a software program to show its specified set of behaviours. Having proper test suites is fundamental for the security of Lisk, as they will guarantee the appropriate behaviour of the platform in the future.
The Lisk documentation is the place to go for users that wish to know more information about the applications part of the Lisk ecosystem.
We want to end this article with a quote from the blog, showing the philosophy of the Foundation and the development team:
The road to innovation is rarely smooth — our approach has been methodical and measured, taking no shortcuts along the way. We want to give a huge thank you to our incredible community for supporting us through it all. We will continue delivering only the most secure and high-quality products on our journey towards a fully fledged Lisk ecosystem.
