An Interview With the Delegate Endro, Founder of Lisk Discovery
Lisk Discovery was born in April 2018, initially as a tool to serve as a news aggregator for Lisk Projects and Sidechains. Soon his creator decided that his project had to become something more and set to work to turn it into a real platform.
Today we have the opportunity to ask a few questions to Endro, Lisk delegate and founder of Lisk Discovery, to find out more about him and the future of his project.
When did you hear about Lisk and why did you decide to become a delegate?
My first encounter with Lisk was around March 2017, when I started showing interest in the blockchain space. After some investigations, Lisk showed a lot of potential and It had me hooked on the Lisk community. Me and Carbonara did a collaboration called “LiskHunt” and had me convinced I should wrap all contributions under my delegate.
Recently you announced that you are shifting your focus exclusively on Lisk Discovery; what was your profession and in what ways was it useful for you to undertake this new project?
I worked for a company that specialized in developing Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain
applications. Working with those new technologies created an skill to help me understand new point
of views much easier. Seeing problems from different angles helped me create the idea of having an
open world where ideas are build together.
You also announced your willingness to create a Lisk Discovery token, how will it be related to the Lisk blockchain? How its value proposition will differ from already existing cryptocurrencies?
The Lisk Discovery team will dedicate a lot of efforts on creating tooling that enable business-like behaviour for open-source endeavors. We will assist projects by providing extended discoverability, fund management, task management and many more tooling to provide a business-like environment. We will also launch a roadmap which will contain all other differences explained in detail.
In your opinion, become a forging delegate could be a solid business model for your startup? Do you think it could be a core revenue stream or only temporary source of funding?
The current price and average monthly payout of forging rewards would not satisfy the needs of a qualified team of developers. Yet, forging rewards can help the on-boarding of quality team members in our startup phase and assure a stable income stream for us.
In a more general overview, do you believe that decentralized autonomous organizations will succeed in supplanting traditional centralized organizations? How could this happen?
Definitely. We are already living in a world where decentralized organizations have proven themselves. Traditional companies are more open to remote work and give more and more trust to autonomous teams. The uprise in open-source development, blockchain projects and online tools around teamwork shows us that businesses are becoming more decentralized.
What impact do you think Lisk Discovery will have on spreading the Lisk ecosystem?
Ideas are becoming more decentralized in their execution and thus can be less structured or do not have the right tooling at hand on which makes a traditional company would have the upper hand. Lisk Discovery will compliment those ideas by creating an open environment for people to help each other. The platform will be open for all projects and DAPPS in our ecosystem and will improve Lisk and our ecosystem drastically.
What could be the main difficulties you will have to face in your journey and how will you overcome them?
One of the most important difficulties would be regulatory compliance. We as a crypto community are exploring new grounds and a lot of efforts will be performed on the sideline to check every single detail in regards to getting a regulated platform. Our partnerships, mentors in Legal will help us through the entire process.
Thank you Endro for your time!
