Lisk SDK 5.0.5 released and update on Lisk Core 3.0.0-beta.6
Lisk Foundation team has released Lisk SDK 5.0.5 featuring bug fixes, cryptography and framework.
Lisk Foundation also updated that it has tagged Lisk Core 3.0.0-beta.6 but could not release the distributions due to some issues it encountered with build tools. It, however, informed the community that its development team would release it by Monday of the following week.
Lisk.js conference agenda
With more than 12 speakers scheduled to speak and over 8 top crypto media bodies to cover the much-anticipated Lisk.js conference coming up on May 21st and 22nd, the Lisk Foundation has released the agenda for the conference.
At least 183 attendees from at least 18+ countries, comprising Europe’s brightest minds in cryptography and blockchain, will attend Lisk’s flagship event.
Supporting LIP merge
One supporting LIPs that proposed message tags for signatures effectively preventing repurposing is now merged on Github. Since adding message tags to transaction and block signatures is incompatible with the current, this merge implies a hard fork of the mainchain.
Lisk co-founder and CEO Max Kordek AMA for May
Following the usual tradition, Max Kordek, co-founder and CEO of the Lisk Foundation, held his monthly AMA for May last week. He fielded a total of 33 questions from over 360 people in attendance. Max responded to questions concerning Lisk marketing, partnerships, US exchange listing, upcoming Lisk.js conference etc.
When asked about Lisk’s recent acquisition, whether it is the Lisk.com domain, Max preferred to keep that info still a secret until it is officially unveiled. However, this news has now been made official. An important question Max made sure to provide an excellent answer to was when asked about what steps the Lisk Foundation team would take to get more and more Blockchain Apps built on/with Lisk. In Max’s words,
“In my opinion, with the upcoming Lisk Grant Program to be announced at Lisk.js, we will lay out great incentives for developers to build within the Lisk ecosystem. It will be a land of milk and honey for developers; they can cherry-pick great ideas from Ethereum and port them over to the Lisk ecosystem. Blockchain technology is not going away anymore. It’s here to stay. That means from now on until a long time into the future there will be growing demand for development tools. Look at internet technologies, e.g. tools like React.js or Node.js were developed well after 2000. Nobody believed that technologies coming after 2000 to the internet would be late to the party. There is a constant demand for innovation and we are well-positioned to continue to provide innovation within the blockchain industry.”
Max also used the opportunity to respond to community members interested in seeing LSK listed on newer exchanges. Max emphasised that Lisk would not mind newer exchanges. However, LSK is already on 9 of the top 20 exchanges, including Binance, Huobi, Kraken, Kucoin, Bittrex, Poloniex, OKEx, bitFlyer, Coincheck. According to Max Kordek, the Foundation’s focus is to get Lisk product shipping off with more activities in marketing going on behind the scenes.
