BLOQspace Joins the JS Foundation to Foster Blockchain and JavaScript Adoption
In the latest press release, the JS Foundation announced BLOQspace as the newest member to join the non profit and JavaScript-focused body.
The JS Foundation is a Linux Foundation Project, focused on mentoring projects across the entire JavaScript spectrum (client and server side application libraries; mobile application testing frameworks; JavaScript engines..). Thanks to the collaboration with Linux Foundation, JS Foundation benefits from guidance on quality, open governance and healthy community development practices. JS Foundation facilitates the creation of accessible content and applications, encourage adoption of open standards and help to develop high quality, long-lived open source projects.
Founding members of JS Foundation include IBM, Ripple, Samsung, Bocoup, Sauce Labs, Sense Tecnic Systems, SitePen, StackPath, University of Westminster and WebsiteSetup. The Foundation counts about 28 active projects, such as Interledger.js, that enables instant payments and micropayments in any currency; JerryScript, a lightweight, fully-featured JavaScript engine for Internet of Things (IoT) devices that ships in commercial products today; Node-RED, a flow-based programming environment built on Node.js and commonly used in the IoT space.
BLOQspace is a movement focused on fostering the adoption of blockchain and JavaScript, Lisk delegate and member of Sherwood pool.
“BLOQspace’s commitment to education and philanthropy in the JavaScript and blockchain ecosystems is directly in line with our mission to support and advance key projects and technologies across the entire JavaScript ecosystem and I am excited to see what we can build together” said Kris Borchers, Executive Director of the JS Foundation.
Brandon McNew, VP of Media Relations at BLOQspace, stated: “In being a culturally diverse organization, that is centered on supporting blockchain and JavaScript technologies that are open, accessible, and sustainable; we at BLOQspace discovered so many parallels between the mission of the JS Foundation and ourselves, that we found it a natural fit to align paths.”
In addition, BLOQspace announced yesterday that through personal funding they secured LiskHQ the title sponsorship to the 4 biggest Javascript developer conferences in the world.
